Monitoring Programme
Anyone living in the Taranaki region and with an impairment that affects their ability to use public transport can apply to join the Total Mobility Scheme. An eligible person must have an impairment that prevents them from undertaking any one or more of the following components of a public transport journey on public passenger transport, (in Taranaki that is a bus journey), unaccompanied and without assistance, in a safe and dignified manner: Getting to and from the nearest bus stop.
Standing
A review of Taranaki’s water resilience and security is being undertaken by Taranaki Regional Council after the region was hit by a severe drought this summer. Working with the three district councils, government agencies, Venture Taranaki and other stakeholders, the Council study will identify how to better understand the current and future demand for water in the region. Taranaki had one of its driest summers ever in 2024/25 with some areas receiving less than half of the usual rainfall and
community to have a level of confidence in the decisions made
and leadership provided by councillors.
Recommendations
That the Taranaki Regional Council:
a) receives the Council Conduct Review report
b) notes and accepts the findings contained in the Council Conduct Review report
c) endorses the decisions it made at its 18 February 2025 meeting to apologise to Mr Dinnie Moeahu (for
the disrespectful treatment shown during his deputation), Iwi representatives, Iwi and hapu,
