1.1.4 Evaluation of environmental and administrative performance
Besides discussing the various details of the performance and extent of compliance by SDC, this report also
assigns them a rating for their environmental and administrative performance during the period under
review.
Environmental performance is concerned with actual or likely
operations and management including the timely
provision of information to Council (such as contingency plans and water take data) in accordance with
consent conditions.
Events that were beyond the control of the consent holder and unforeseeable (that is a defence under the
provisions of the RMA can be established) may be excluded with regard to the performance rating applied.
For example loss of data due to a flood destroying deployed field equipment.

the Stratford Power Station continued to be well managed with negligible
environmental effects as a process of the exercise of their consents.
Surface water abstraction was compliant with daily rate and volume. Process water discharges were
compliant with consent defined parameters. Surface water monitoring indicated negligible impacts from the
discharge of process waters.
The thermal tolerances within the receiving waters were not exceeded for the duration of the monitoring
period.
