held by New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) to cover emissions to air from NPDC’s
crematorium on Junction Road (State Highway 3) at New Plymouth.
Since 1 October 1991, with the enactment of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA),
the Council has been the agency with primary responsibility for air quality
management in the Taranaki region. Early in 1992, the Council initiated air quality

floodways filters sediment from surface
runoff but also keeps it in temporary
storage, reducing flood capacity. Drainage
of wetlands leads to clearance of swamp
vegetation, important for flood storage and
also for removal of nutrients like nitrogen
from emerging groundwater.
Removal of native riparian vegetation
destroys habitats for wildlife, depletes food
and shelter for freshwater fisheries,
produces
applications in 2010/2011 before the plan
change was due to come into effect, but many of these
subdivisions have not subsequently been built on. After
the plan change, rural subdivisions reduced dramatically.

TWN Ltd Partnership (the Company) operates a hydrocarbon production station located on Bird Road
Stratford, in the Patea
