considerably. Some councils support iwi to develop management plans through funding and/or
resource assistance (e.g. Greater Wellington Regional Council and Toi Moana – Bay of Plenty
Regional Council). Other councils have even co-designed Iwi Management Plans11. There are a
number of ways council can support iwi to develop Iwi Management Plans and they should be
explored as part of the implementation of this framework.

This permit was issued by the Council on 11 February 2010 under Section 87(e) of the RMA. It has been
