SECTION F – Other structures
Please note this section is for all other structures that don’t fall into the
activity is
expressly allowed for by a resource consent or a rule in a regional plan, or it falls within some particular
categories set out in Section 14. Permits authorising the abstraction of water are issued by the Council
under Section 87(d) of the RMA.
Water discharge permits
Section 15(1)(a) of the RMA stipulates that no person may discharge any contaminant into water, unless the
activity is expressly allowed for by a resource consent or a rule in a regional plan, or by national
person may take, use, dam or divert any

Ballance holds three permits to abstract water.

1.3 Resource consents
1.3.1 Water abstraction permit
Section 14 of the RMA stipulates that no person may take, use, dam or divert any
water, unless the activity is expressly allowed for by a resource consent or a rule in a
regional plan, or it falls within some particular categories set out in Section 14.
TWNLP holds water permit 3767-2 to take water from the Ngaere Stream in the Patea
catchment for utility and firewater
option to minimise
effects on the environment.
Conditions 6 and 7 are lapse and review provisions.
