At what pace should the Council respond to the Government’s Essential Freshwater package and the
extensive and expensive new requirements it brings? Should we move quickly to boost capacity to
meet Government requirement and public expectations (the preferred option)? Or should we move
gradually, doing only what is needed to meet requirements?

this was the considerable erosion
occurring along the Waitara East beach shoreline. However, it is not yet clear whether this erosion has been
influenced by the Waitara river mouth groyne/mole structures, or whether it is occurring independently.
Further investigation is required to establish the cause(s) of this erosion and identify remedial measures.
