Besides discussing the various details of the performance and extent of compliance by the consent holders,
this report also assigns a rating as to each Company’s environmental and administrative performance during
the period under review. The rating categories are high, good, improvement required and poor for both
environmental and administrative performance. The interpretations for these ratings are
rainfall for the Waitara catchment is expected to be about 2,200
mm. A catchment-wide mean annual rainfall of about 3,200 mm is estimated for the Manganui River
based on the recorded mean flow at Everett Park (19.5 m3/s).
In a normal year, significant rainfall occurs in every month of the year, with the three months from
January to March receiving roughly 30% less rainfall than other months on average. This lower
