breached the guideline for thick mats, but 5 out of 21 sites surveyed breached the guidelines
for long filaments. For the 2015/2016 monitoring year 4 sites breached nuisance periphyton
guidelines. One site breached each of the thick mat and long filament guidelines on one
occasion for each, while three other sites breached only the long filament guideline, on one

facility at Colson Road, New Plymouth has reached capacity. The management of the delivery and operation
of the facility, and the associated consents were transferred to New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) during
the year under review. The Colson Road landfill closed to general waste in August 2019. However the use of
the Central Landfill was put on hold and
Stanley Bros Trust (the Company) operates a piggery located on the corner of 4833 South Road and 24
Arawhata Road, Opunake in the Arawhata catchment. The piggery is a breeder, grower, and finishing
operation with the capacity of up to 5,381 pigs and piglets at any one time. The Company holds resource
consents which allow the Company to discharge effluent to land via spray irrigation, and the discharging of
effluent emissions to air from related practices.

1.1 Purpose

wood waste disposal site located on Monk Road at
Waverley, in the Whenuakura catchment, and a former wood waste disposal site located on Village
Settlement Road at Waverley, in the Moumahaki catchment. The Monk Road site is consented to receive
untreated wood waste only, and the Village Settlement Road site is consented to receive treated and
untreated wood waste. All the wood waste discharged at both sites originates from the Company’s sawmill
