3.1

Arawhata Road, Opunake in the Arawhata catchment. The piggery is a breeder, grower, and finishing
operation with the capacity of up to 5,381 pigs and piglets at any one time. The Company holds resource
consents which allow the Company to discharge effluent to land via spray irrigation, and the discharging of
effluent emissions to air from related practices.

resource consent you lodged on behalf of New Plymouth District Council to construct a new
rock revetment to support a shared pathway for public access at Weld Road
River, 4.5 km downstream from the intake weir. In the KNE inventory,
it is described as comprising ‘a small (1.3 ha) QEII covenanted area of lowland tawa
and swamp forest located close to the Manganui River off Ngaro Road. The remnant
is loosely connected to other riparian vegetation along the Manganui River and
provides greater connectivity to other priority sites in the area such as Tariki Bush,
Maketawa Stream Forests and Dravitzki QEII covenants on Salisbury Road …
