LPG export facility was no longer used, with gas being utilised for other purposes.
Pilot flares were being maintained, these were clean burning with no smoke or odour detected.

Heavy persistent rain and strong winds had occurred prior to the inspection, and it was raining at the time
of the inspection. The stormwater system was working well, with all stormwater being collected and directed
for treatment prior to discharge from site. The site was tidy and processes appeared

The spreading areas were revegetating well although there was some evidence of wind damage in certain
areas. The paddocks had been recently re-fenced; as a consequence site access via the metal track was no
longer possible.

The inspection was conducted in conjunction with soil sampling in fine weather with a moderate south west
wind.
Two soil transects were undertaken in the F3 spreading area. These two transects were
second
anaerobic treatment pond. Previously untreated wastewater was pumped directly
from out of the separator sump which had contributed to odour issues during certain
wind conditions. Spray irrigating partially treated effluent has reduced the odour
effects which are sometimes associated with spray drift.

Taranaki has three distinctive patterns of
waterway. In the west, short steep-gradient
rivers radiate from the mountain across its
ringplain to the coast. In the east, long low-
gradient rivers wind through deeply-
incised, narrow-bottomed valleys in the hill
country. Dotted across the ringplain and
through the valley bottoms, lakes and
swamps occupy small, discontinuous
wetlands.

A touch of frost, a
significant rainfall for some
time. The skimmer pits were discharging with no effects noted downstream of the main
discharge point. No flaring or odours were noted at the time of inspection. Everything
was satisfactory.

The site was neat and tidy. Ring drains and bunds were clear. The skimmer pits were
clear of debris following high winds in the weekend. The discharge was not causing
any visual impact in the receiving waters. No flaring was occurring.
