clean and do not touch near the top of the sample bottles.
3) For the pesticide bottles:
The glass bottles for the pesticide analyses have been washed and rinsed according to
a strict protocol. It is important that the samples are collected directly into the bottles
and not into a bucket or other container before filling the sample bottles.

and tidy. Some tracking was noted out of one of the entries, but this had improved since previous
inspections. No dust was being generated. Plant was operating at the time of inspection. All water was
being directed to the treatment system, which looked to be working well. The site was compliant at the time
of inspection.
07 June 2022
Routine compliance monitoring inspection found that the site was clean and tidy. Minor tracking from the
truck exit and entry. The discharge
from
the old Fazackerly timber treatment plant site as base fill to the landfill for re-contouring purposes2 (under the
supervision of SDC). This consent has been exercised. However, due to an excess of clean overburden, further
re-contouring is required.

2 This consent was granted to provide for the remediation of a local sawmill site. The consent (7645-1) is
resource consent, a rule in a regional plan, or by national
regulations. The Council permits as of right, some discharges to land (for example clean sand or soil or
concrete to land, as occurs during re-instatement). Most other discharges require a resource consent.
At the end of the monitoring period seven quarries in Taranaki held cleanfill discharge consents.

description
The Inglewood landfill opened in 1978 and operated as a municipal landfill for 24 years.
The site had been constructed in the head of a gully in the Awai Stream catchment. As the gully was filled
with refuse, cover material was progressively excavated from the side walls ahead of the fill. The underlying
soil, cover and capping material at the site is clay (Taranaki Ash).
Solid waste from the Inglewood kerbside collection was disposed of at Colson Road from 1999 and the

dissolved solids. The machine cleans its own sensors after taking each measurement, and the device has proved to be reliable, robust and accurate. The Council will consider investing in further technology to enable the device to also monitor nutrient levels. Council officers are also using a smaller, hand-held version of the device for site-specific investigations elsewhere. All’s well with most wellsTaranaki’s groundwater is in overall healthy condition, with nitrate and bacteria levels far below
