Get monitoring predators
It’s interesting and useful to discover what
predators are in your area before you start
your trapping programme. This information
can help guide where best to place your traps.
Once you are up and running, it’s good to
monitor for predators every six months or so
to know what predators are still around

Dips were generally located near water sources (bore and

been occasional examples of sheep dips being located inside
a building or structure (e.g. covered-in yards or night pens).

Russell Matthews had a strong vision, a sense of style and a good eye for landscaping.
Mary Matthews had strong links to the Presbyterian Church in New Plymouth, taught for many years at New
Plymouth Girls’ High School and had a strong empathy for the ‘needy’.
The Matthews residence was the venue for many social gatherings.
Sustainability was a key component of the buildings construction.
The gardens and buildings have had an interesting history
of targets and limits to address certain freshwater indicators; and
the development of action plans to implement other regulatory and non-regulatory programmes
to address tricky issues such as providing for fish passage and the protection of threatened species
(post notification, likely in 2025).

Venture Taranaki Presentation
6.1 Ms A Probert, GM Regional Strategy and Sectors and Ms J Gilliland, Chief Executive

Taranaki provided a presentation updating members on Venture Taranaki activities.

A meeting was held on Monday 5 March 2018 with Boon Goldsmith Bhaskar
Brebner Team Architects on the Prospero Place development. The aim is to
have the architect’s team work with developer David Kowalewski who owns a
number of buildings on Broadway and has already committed to demolishing
three of these as part of his own retail development plans.
