Council (TRC) to set environmental flow and levels for all of the region’s waterways (Figure 1). Environmental
flows and levels must be set as rules in plans. A flow can be considered the quantity, variability, flow, duration
and timing of flows or water levels to give effect to Te Mana o te Wai, the long-term visions and outcomes
set by the community and tangata whenua (MfE,

AIR
Clean, unpolluted air is essential to the well-being of Taranaki's
communities and to the environment as a whole.
Taranaki can be proud of its excellent air quality that contributes to the
attraction of the region as a safe place to live with an enviable lifestyle
and all the great outdoors has to offer.

intensive winter grazing changes remove the requirements for a farmer to comply with the conditions in the NES-FW or obtain a resource consent from the Council. Until this becomes law, farmers must comply with the default conditions in the National Environmental Standards for Freshwater (NES-FW). Otherwise a farmer will need to obtain a resource consent from the Council. Contact Taranaki Regional Council for more information. TAPUAE ROA MAKE WAY FOR TARANAKI ACTION PLAN 3
Every now and then it pays to pause and look at
our region with fresh eyes – that’s Tapuae Roa.
The Tapuae Roa Strategy, published in July 2017,
was an act of collectively thinking aloud about
the ‘what’ - what we have achieved and what
does the future hold for us? This Action Plan is
about the ‘how’ – how we will
explore using the concept further.
3. Policy and Planning Committee Minutes – 24 November 2020
Resolved
That the Taranaki Regional Council:
a) receives the minutes of the Policy and Planning Committee meeting of the
Taranaki Regional Council held in the Taranaki Regional Council chambers, 47
Cloten Road, Stratford on Tuesday 24 November 2020 at 10.30am.
b) adopts the recommendations therein.

I ordered plants this season. Will I get
them?
Certainly. Only 1% of this season’s plants
had to be destroyed because of concerns
about myrtle rust. They’re being replaced
with non-myrtle species. You should have
been able to pick up your plants by now. If
you haven’t, talk to your Land Management
Officer, call the Council on 0800 736 222 or
