There was a huge amount of rainfall in July in Taranaki with an average of 341mm – that's 70% more than usual – as the region was hit by two major weather events. Brooklands Zoo in New Plymouth had 127% more than normal while on Taranaki Maunga the gauge at North Taranaki at Camphouse recorded 78% above normal. Other non-mountain monitoring sites which recorded more than 100% above usual included Waiwhakaiho at Hillsborough (112%), Motunui M39 at Weston W3 (110%) and Waiwhakaiho at Egmont

Council on the monitoring programme associated with resource consents held by
Taranaki Ventures Limited in relation to exploration activities at the Copper Moki
site. Taranaki Ventures Limited operates a wellsite situated on Cheal Road at
Ngaere, in the Patea River catchment. Resource consents were transferred from
Green Gate Limited to Taranaki Ventures Limited on 1 April 2011.

1.3 Resource consents
The Company holds six resource consents the details of which are summarised
in the table below. One consent was varied during the reporting period.
Consent 1315-1.2 was amended to extend the injection timeframe by a further
12 months and to change the consent purpose, to allow
