inspection of the well sites associated with the MMPS was carried out to check for compliance
with resource consent conditions. Heavy and persistent rain had fallen the previous night. Well sites
inspected were Mangahewa-A, C, D, and E; Pouri-A; Pukemai-A; Tuhua-A, B, C and D; McKee B, C, D and E;
Toetoe-A, B and C; and Mystone-A. In general, the sites were tidy and clean with minimal activity occurring.
The sites were being maintained with weed spraying evident on the site and in some places within

The most significant structures/components within the Race and lake are summarised within
Table 2 and are discussed further as follows.

2.1.1 Inspections
07 December 2020
An inspection was undertaken to assess compliance with resource consent conditions. It was raining at the
time of the inspection. Four samples were obtained; one downstream (clear), one upstream (clear), one from
the storm water discharge pipe (turbid) and one form the head waters adjacent to the storm water
discharge pipe, at this location there was a visible sheen. The
build a new
compressor onsite. The old flare pit had been tested for contamination prior to it being reinstated to
pasture. At the time of inspection no flare, heat haze or smoke was detected. The skimmer pits were visually
satisfactory. It was noted that the discharge pipe is kept closed during rain events to allow sediment to
settle out prior to discharge, with various tide marks around the pits showing that this was common
practice. Hydrocarbon cloth had been placed under the coil tubing
the tractor up
to the pond. If the tractor slopes back too far, lubricating oil in the tractor engine will fall
away from the front crank bearing, damaging the engine.
When using contractors or hiring equipment, make sure that the equipment used has been
cleaned before use on your farm. This is so diseases are not transferred within the effluent
from one property to another.
There are two types of contracting operations - pump spreaders and vehicle spreaders

decrease compared to the previous year.

The move to bulk cargo resulted in an increase in material deposited on the ground in the log and coal
storage areas. When it rains this material washes into the stormwater system, and discharges into the
harbour via the numerous piped outlets (Figure 2).

stream was turbid and brown in colour. The piggery wastewater flow rate from the final pond was
estimated to be at 14 L/s.
The wastewater discharge from the final pond had no visual downstream environmental impact on the
Waiongana Stream at the time of the survey. The consent holder continued to discharge for a
