Iwi considerations
38. This memorandum and the associated recommendations are consistent with the Council’s policy for
the development of Māori capacity to contribute to decision-making processes (schedule 10 of the
Local Government Act 2002) as outlined in the adopted Long-Term Plan and/or Annual Plan.

2.2 Known fish distribution
The NZ freshwater fisheries database (NZFFD) was interrogated for fish survey records in the
Waiwhakaiho River catchment and information extracted from it was used to generate maps of known
fish distribution. The data from the database are graphically presented in Appendix 1 and other
