The Council's two key standing committees,
Consents & Regulatory and Policy &
Planning, each have three more members after
new Iwi appointments took up their positions
in August.
Under the terms of recent Treaty of Waitangi
settlements, all eight Iwi in the region were
involved in the selection process, with the
appointees chosen to ensure each Committee
conditions attached to the permit.
Condition 1 requires the consent holder to map the position of the platform(s) and
provide a copy to the relevant authorities.
Conditions 2, 3 and 5 relate to public access.
Condition 4 requires the consent holder to adopt best practicable option to minimise
effects on the environment.
Conditions 6 and 7 are lapse and review provisions.
Section 14 of the Resource Management Act stipulates that no person may take, use,
dam or divert any water, unless
