1. Introduction
1.1. Compliance monitoring programme reports and the Resource
Management Act 1991
1.1.1. Introduction
This report is for the period July 2016 to June 2017 by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on the
monitoring programme associated with the resource consent held by Value Timber Ltd (the
treatment plant (WWTP) systems
within the district of South Taranaki. This report addresses performances of four of these systems, located in
the Kaponga, Manaia, Patea and Waverley townships1.
This report for the period July 2017 to June 2018 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the
Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess STDC’s environmental performance during the period
under review. The report also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the
treatment plant (WWTP) systems

1 Introduction
1.1 Compliance monitoring programme reports and the Resource

1.1.1 Introduction
This report is for the period July 2016 to June 2017 by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on the
monitoring programme associated with resource consents held by South Taranaki
flooded.
Lake Mangamahoe is used for both hydroelectricity generation and as the town water supply for
New Plymouth, managed by New Plymouth District Council (NPDC).
Historically, the flow through the Waiwhakaiho Tunnel was 7 m3/s. However, Trustpower applied
to increase the maximum consented take from the Waiwhakaiho River through the Waiwhakaiho
tunnel (to Lake Mangamahoe) to 10 m3/s in 2013. In order to achieve the maximum take of
10 m3/s, flow in the Waiwhakaiho River theoretically
waste discharged
at both sites originates from the Company’s sawmill in Waverley. This report for the period
July 2015 to June 2016 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki
Regional Council (the Council) to assess the Company’s environmental performance during

Methanex operate methanol production facilities located at Motunui and Waitara Valley, in
the Waitara River catchment. The Motunui facility restarted methanol production in October
