Executive summary
Nova Energy Ltd (the Company) operates the McKee Power Plant on Otaraoa Road near Tikorangi, bridging
the Waitara and Onaero catchments. Located to the south of the McKee Production Station (which
processes oil and gas from the McKee and Mangahewa groups of wellsites), the McKee Power Plant was
completed and commissioned
the old landfill area off Bewley Road showed pH level
was outside consent limits at one monitoring bores. Other parameters tested were within consent limits at
the time of sampling.
There was one unauthorised incident recorded that were associated with the consents covered by this
report which resulted in further enforcement action, including one abatement notices being issued.

Introduction
Compliance monitoring programme reports and the Resource
Management Act 1991
1.1.1 Introduction
This report is for the period July 2023 to June 2024 by Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on the
monitoring programme associated with resource consents held by two concrete batching plants in the
Taranaki Region, Firth Industries on Glover Road in Hawera, and Fletcher Concrete and
specific recommendations
therein.

The monitoring found that the most coastal structures were compliant with consent conditions, with two
minor non-compliances observed at Bayly Road (5512-2) and Pātea boat ramp and jetty (4566-2). In the
previous monitoring year, one structure at Ōpunake Beach was found in a state of disrepair and was
deemed to be non-compliant. This structure has since been replaced by a new wall and is now compliant
with the associated resource

Executive summary
The Dow Paritūtū agrichemical manufacturing site occupies a 16 hectare land parcel located
between Paritūtū Road and Centennial Drive in north-western New Plymouth. The site and
associated operations have been of ongoing interest to the local community as a result of
concerns raised around the potential environmental and human health impacts of activities
carried out at the site over the past 60 years.
