Executive summary
The Stratford District Council (SDC) operates a municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) located on
Victoria Road at Stratford, in the Pātea Catchment.
This report for the period July 2023 to June 2024 describes the monitoring programme implemented by
Taranaki Regional Council
immediately downstream of
the Silver Fern Farms site at Tawhiti Road to assess flow volumes. The hydrometric station is required to be
maintained under Consent 1103-4 (held by Silver Fern Farms) which provide for the discharge of cooling
water from the meat processing plant.

Executive summary
Greenfern Industries Ltd (the Company) operates a hydroelectric power station located on Normanby Road
at Okaiawa, in the Waingongoro Catchment. Utilising an existing weir across the Waingongoro River and
tunnel under Normanby Road, water is diverted for electricity generation. The station is located
approximately 3.2km downstream of the weir, but due to the
apologies.
