1.2 Process description
1.2.1 Stratford water supply
The municipal water supply is extracted from the Patea River (main supply) and the Konini Stream (auxiliary
supply) by means of weirs on these watercourses. At the Cardiff Road WTP, water is filtered using membrane
filters and then treated with chlorine and fluoride for domestic supply
plant (Kapuni Gas Treatment Plant, KGTP)
located on Palmer Road at Kapuni, in the Kapuni catchment, South Taranaki. The site was previously
operated by Vector Gas Ltd, with ownership changing to Todd Petroleum Mining Company (the Company)
in April 2020.

including investing in two new replacement hoppers to reduce the risk of dust propagation from bulk dry
cargo unloading operations.

Executive summary
The Ahuroa B Gas Storage Facility (Ahuroa B/AGS) is owned and operated by Flexgas Ltd (the Company).
Ahuroa B is located on the corner of Barleymans Road and Croydon Road, east of Midhirst, in the Waitara
catchment. Ahuroa B supplies natural gas to one of its main customers, Contact Energy, for use in their
Stratford Power Station. This report for the period July 2021 to June 2022 describes the monitoring
