Process description 2.1.1
The purpose of the Downer EDI Works Ltd (Downer) plant is to produce asphalt for
use on roads and driveways etc. A permanent drum mix plant has replaced the batch
plant and mobile plant that were formerly in use at the site.
The asphalt production is achieved by the following processes. The plant is a parallel-

farm supplies for the Dudley Road Rural Users

The infiltration gallery consists of two slotted pipes
buried under the stream bed. The two gallery pipe
legs feed a pipeline that is gravity fed, which
supplies the WTP.

Executive summary
Burgess & Crowley operates a quarry located on East Road in Toko, in the Patea
relaxing environment, and lack of overcrowding. In all districts, one of the top three aspects residents liked
most about where they live was the proximity to Mount Taranaki.
Almost a third of residents in each district said there was nothing they disliked about where they live. Aside
from the weather and climate, most disliked in the New Plymouth district were traffic issues and the state of
roads and footpaths (8% disliked these aspects the most). In the Stratford district (8%) and the
