Company holds five resource consents, which include a total of 67 conditions setting out the
requirements that the Company must satisfy. The Company holds one consent to discharge
effluent/stormwater into the Mangorei Stream, one consent to discharge emissions into the air at this site
and three land use permits. The consents were transferred to Nova Energy Ltd on 1 June 2022, however the
ownership of the site was transferred to the Company early in 2022.
The Council’s monitoring programme for
standards
Section 67 of the RMA specifies that regional plans must give effect to:
any national policy statement,
any New Zealand coastal policy statement, and
any regional policy statement.
National policy statements (NPS) are instruments issued by the Government under
sections 45 and 46 of the RMA. They state objectives and policies for matters of national
significance that are relevant to achieving the purpose of the RMA, to which regional
plans must give effect

Monitoring of wastewater on the two
covered by sections 12, 14, 15, 15A and 15B may not be undertaken within the
coastal environment unless expressly allowed by a national environmental standard, a
rule in a regional plan or a resource consent. The national environmental standard, plan
or resource consent may prescribe the noise standards for those activities (section 16).
