industries 2021-2022 compliance monitoring sampling sites
The first of two dedicated stormwater sampling surveys scheduled for 2021-2022 was carried out between
07:30 and 11:00 on 30 November 2021. The survey was preceded by moderate rainfall overnight (23.2 mm)
recorded between 02:00 and 07:00 at Brooklands Zoo rain gauge. Light rain fell intermittently from the
morning to the early afternoon. There had been very little rainfall for 12 days preceding this survey. Samples
collected were also
currently monitored by TRC on a regular long-term basis. In addition, the Northern
Hill Country FMU is under-represented in the monitoring network with only one monitoring site.
At a catchment level, the monitoring sites generally over-represent catchments with:
mean annual temperature <12°C;
mean annual effective precipitation >1500mm;
50% of the cumulative rainfall volume fell between 400m and 1000m;
volcanic acidic dominant geology, and pastoral land cover.
connection from the skimmer pits (STW002016) will be retained so
that during times of high rainfall the flow can come directly from the skimmer pits rather than flushing out
the sediment settling pond.

Purpose of Policy and Planning Committee meeting
This committee attends to all matters of resource management, biosecurity and related
environment policy.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review regional policy statements, plans and strategies and convene as a
Hearing Committee as and when required for the hearing of submissions.
Monitor plan and policy implementation.
Develop biosecurity policy.
Advocate, as appropriate,
routine compliance monitoring during a period of fine weather
following recent rainfall over the previous weeks. The inspection found that the irrigation paddocks were
visually water logged, especially the three irrigation areas below the irrigation pond. The irrigator was set up
within the irrigation area above the twin culverts, but was not in operation. This is in line with best practice.
An inspection of the irrigation fields found that while they were visually water logged there was no signs
