(13) The other general conditions are as follows:
(a) the activity must be undertaken only to the extent necessary to achieve its purpose; and
(b) the activity must not involve the use of fire or explosives; and
(c) if there is existing public access to a natural wetland, the activity must not prevent the public from continuing to access
the natural
electricity sources in New Zealand, such as wind
generation. Commercial operation commenced in June 2011. The plant may be required to run for hours
during low wind conditions, or for months during dry hydro years or times of major plant outages. The two
separate 100 MW high-efficiency open cycle gas fired turbines are capable of going from cold to full power
in 10 minutes. To improve efficiency, air from the low pressure compressor passes through an inter-cooler
before entering the high pressure
from the production station, including potentially contaminated stormwater from the
production area and tank storage area, is treated through an API separator and then directed into a
polyethylene lined storage pond located at the southern edge of the site. The pond has a storage capacity
of 3,600 m3 and it serves as a settlement pond and a fire water source in the event of an emergency. Water
from the stormwater pond is discharged by pipe onto land to the east of the site where it flows into

4.3 Mr B Pope, Compliance Manager, gave an update on Taranaki By-Products, where there
was a significant fire over the New Year period which has resulted in extensive damage
to the exterior of the building.
