slopes and stream terraces.
The remnant is of a native forest type that is classified as 'Chronically Threatened' in Taranaki and falls
within an 'Acutely Threatened' Land Environment (LENZ) F5.2a. Remnants such as this provide
important habitat for rare and threatened species. Allerby's Bush also offers good connectivity to other
nearby habitats, covenants and Key Native Ecosystems in the area such as the Everett Park Scenic
Reserve KNE.

NPDC Zero Waste Fund – latest funding round
9. NPDC runs a Zero Waste Fund for community initiatives that will minimise
waste. The current round is open for applications from 1 October to 31 October
2024. Priority for this funding round will be given to those projects that fall in
the upper two levels of
or grant a coastal permit for this type of
discretionary activity. The Council will exercise its discretion in accordance with the
objectives and policies in the plan and other Section 104 matters. The Council may
consider any matter allowed under Section 104, including all effects on the

sample collected on 10 March 2016 (380 cfu/100 ml) i.e. two consecutive samples
exceeded 280 cfu/100 ml. It had not rained for the few days preceding and
conductivity of the sample taken on 8 March 2016 (4690 mS/m) did not indicate strong
freshwater influence. King high tides occurred on both dates (3.6 m 8 March, 3.9 m 10
March). In previous years certain high counts at the two Waitara beach sites were also
associted with king tides (e.g. Waitara East Beach: 250 cfu/100 ml 3.8 m high tide on
reflect that rainfall at the coast is richer in chloride and
sodium, compared to rainfall that falls inland. Nearly two thirds of GQMP sites plot
below the SWDL, suggesting that much of the region’s groundwater is enriched with
sodium from rock/water interactions with sodium rich source rocks.
26. An analysis of nitrate concentrations over the entire GQMP network suggests that there
has been little change in groundwater nitrate levels over the last five years. There is

A follow-up inspection of the site was carried out in fine weather with calm wind
conditions, following heavy rain five days prior to the inspection. The inspecting
officer walked across the cap. It was noted that the cap was moist, but intact, with no
ponding observed. The stormwater diversion drain through the centre of the cap
showed evidence of overland flow, but no damage to the cap was noted. The grass
