spring. This permit was issued by the Taranaki Regional Council on 16 June 2003 under
Section 87(e) of the Resource Management Act and granted by Hon Chris Carter
pursuant to the provisions of section 119 of the Resource Management Act on 12 July
2003. It is due to expire on 1 June 2033.
There are seven special conditions attached to the permit.

Consultation and Cultural Impact Assessment
Trustpower commenced engagement with key stakeholders in 2018 with Taranaki Regional Council
staff, Fish & Game, and the Department of Conservation. Engagement with iwi and hapu has
resulted in the formulation of an iwi forum in 2019 which includes representatives of 11 iwi and hapu.
The above stakeholders have been provided site visits, and presentations from some of the authors
of the technical
advance.
It takes up to 90 minutes to walk to the Family Hut
following the main route (you will receive a map
with your booking confirmation). The track takes you
through regenerating native rainforest with plentiful
birdlife.
The track can be muddy in places. Please be prepared
with sturdy walking footwear and appropriate
clothing.
