4.1 Ms F Ritson. Policy Analyst, Taranaki Regional Council, spoke to the memorandum
advising Members of the release of the Regional Land Transport Plan for Taranaki
2021/22-2026/27 (the RLTP or the Plan),including related next steps.
4.2 Ms L Stewart, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, informed that the concerns raised
have been heard and a team has been put in place to look at the process going
forward.

Regional Transport Committee Meeting Wednesday 17 June 2015
There being no further business the Committee Chairperson, Councillor R F H Maxwell,
declared the Regional Transport Committee meeting closed at
mistake" and refers to an incident that is no longer remembered. The Te Henui River
and nearby papakainga were very important to Ngati Te Whiti. The three papakainga were close to each other
and their occupants shared resources and strategies in times of conflict with other Hapu or Iwi. All sites are
situated on the Te Henui River which was used for transport to the papakainga down river and on the coast.
The papakainga on the coast at the Te Henui river mouth were Purakau, Autere
Policies related to this Objective are not met. The RNZ proposal is
contrary to the Objectives and Policies of our Iwi Management Plan.

13 The first obligation is to protect the health and well-being of the water.
The health and mauri of the water will not be protected by the
Applications. The Mimitangiatua is no longer used for mahinga kai or
drinking, and we do not consider it safe for children to swim in river - this
is partly due to the RNZ activities.
