CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S
REPORT
It is our pleasure to present the Taranaki
Regional Council’s 2014/2015 Annual Report.
The Council’s mission is to work for a thriving and
prosperous region, and now more than ever it’s important
not to lose sight of that goal.
Preparation of this Annual Report has been an opportunity
to assess progress and consider the way ahead. This
introduction and the graphics on pages 6 to 9 offer a brief
overview of
Regional Council:
a) takes as read and confirms the minutes of the Policy and Planning Committee meeting of the Taranaki
Regional Council held in the Taranaki Regional Council chambers, 47 Cloten Road, Stratford on
Tuesday 23 July 2024
b) notes the recommendations therein were adopted by the Taranaki Regional Council on Tuesday 6
August 2024.

Rivers Officer
Purpose | Te arotahi mātua
The Rivers Officer is responsible for working collaboratively and cohesively within the Rivers team
and across the Taranaki Regional Council to assist with the implementation of the Taranaki
Regional Council’s river and flood control activities, functions and responsibilities under the Soil
Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, Land Drainage Act 1908, Local Government Act 2002
and the Resource Management Act 1991.
The
remains vacant until the Trust’s Annual General Meeting in October
2016 whereby an election will be held to fill the vacancy.
The Trust Board met eight times during 2015/2016 to develop strategy, set the direction,
approve plans and progress the building of a strong foundation for the future. My personal
thanks goes to Leigh Honnor, Regional Biodiversity Co-ordinator, for all her hard work in
this area. Thanks also to the Taranaki Regional Council for hosting the majority of our
Board
notification of consents, the receipt of submissions,
and the organisation of consent hearings to ensure they are run
in accordance with Taranaki Regional Council procedure and
statutory requirements;
- ensure Taranaki Regional Council information, data and records
are stored with appropriate accessibility and accuracy in
designated systems;
- facilitate and manage the creation of processes ensuring that
statistical information is available to internal and external
stakeholders.

“At a time when many sectors of the regional community are facing
increased pressures, all of us at the Council are more mindful than ever
of our responsibility to be as efficient as possible in our mission to
work for a thriving and prosperous region.”
