1 Introduction
1.1 Compliance monitoring programme reports and the Resource
Management Act 1991
1.1.1 Introduction
This report is for the period July 2018 to June 2019 by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on the
monitoring programme associated with the resource consent held by South Taranaki District Council (STDC).
STDC operates a greenwaste disposal
District Council (STDC) holds consents to cover the discharge of leachate and
stormwater from seven closed landfills. The landfills are at Kaponga and Manaia in the Waiokura catchment,
Patea in the Patea catchment, Opunake in the Otahi catchment, Hawera in the Tangahoe catchment,
Otakeho in the Taikatu catchment and Eltham in the Waingongoro catchment.
