This report for the period July 2015 to June 2016 describes the monitoring programme
implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess the environmental
performance of three concrete batching plants within the Taranaki Region. The report also
details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the environmental effects of their
activities. The three concrete batching plants covered by this

The current resource consents for the operation of the scheme were granted by Taranaki Regional
Council (TRC) on 4 September 1996, and several were subsequently varied (in 2006, 2016 and 2017).
All resource consents expire on 1 June 2021. Consequently, Trustpower has commenced a process to
obtain replacement consents to permit operation of the scheme for a further term. This report,
which is one of a series of technical assessment reports, addresses the hydrological aspects of the
scheme.

Green waste from a Hawera based contractor is transported to the site and discharged over
areas of sandy pasture that have undergone aeolian erosion. The green waste helps trap soil
and sand and upon decomposition, adds nutrients and condition to the sandy soils.
