Recommendations
That the Taranaki Regional Council:
a) takes as read and confirms the minutes and resolutions of the Ordinary meeting of the

Local Government Reforms
As well as reforms to how we manage our
freshwater and resources, the Government is
looking at the future of local government and if
the many regional, district and city councils are
the best system
councils plan for the
long-term. It requires the development of what
are known as ‘spatial strategies’. This means we’ll
be working closer with the three district councils
in our region to take a region-wide approach to
planning. The goal is to eventually put together a

rhododendron collection continues to thrive and delight visitors. Trust members and TRC staff also
have a pivotal national role in a global effort to save threatened rhododendron species from
