Discharges to the Kahouri Stream The Company recorded 25 occasions where stormwater was discharged to the Kahouri Stream during the 2019-2020 monitoring period. This occurred during high rainfall events. Stormwater monitoring is undertaken by the Company. 2.2 Results of receiving environment monitoring 2.2.1 Inter-lab Comparisons The results of the Council monitoring of the effluent from the TCC and SPP in the 2019-2020 monitoring period are provided in Tables 6 and 7. monitoring by OMV OMV monitors the combined stormwater discharge from the site, with sampling triggered by rainfall events. Table 3 shows the results obtained during the 2021-2022 monitoring year. There was no discharge at the time of scheduled sampling during April 2022. In all samples pH, hydrocarbons, and suspended solids levels were all within/below the limits set by consents 5997-1, 6269-1 and 10933-1, and were indicative of a consistently clean discharge. OMV initiated daily stormwater
discrete areas, such as near river mouths and in close proximity to wastewater discharges. At river mouths, water quality can be reduced as a result of contaminants from land use and development (e.g. farming, earthworks, urban centres, industrial sites) entering waterways, particularly during or following heavy rainfall events. Accidental discharges of largely untreated wastewater can have temporary adverse effects on coastal water quality. Wastewater discharges from large
have included an additional sediment settling pond being added to the stormwater system (Photo 4). This discharges to the stream via a new pipe (STW002101) into the same manhole as STW002016. The original connection from the skimmer pits (STW002016) has been retained so that during times of high rainfall the flow can come directly from the skimmer pits rather than flushing out the sediment settling pond. Sampling of the discharge from the Kaimiro Production Station was undertaken twice
drain. It was to be assessed at the next decent rainfall event. It was reiterated that minor spills should be cleaned up at the time and drip trays used when possible. Some minor spills were observed at the time of inspection and staff were made aware of these. Bunding was in place where this requirement was applicable. All resource consent conditions were being complied with at the time of inspection. page 11 21 July 2016 An inspection was carried out at the Turangi-C
