On 10 November 2010, the Resource
Management (Measurement
and Reporting of Water Takes)
Regulations 2010 (the Regulations)
came into effect.
The Regulations have been established as a tool for
better planning, monitoring and management of New
Zealand’s water resources. Under the Regulations,

9. There shall be no direct discharge to water as a result of irrigatmg wastewater to land.
This includes/ but is not necessarily limited to, ensuring the following:
c No irrigation shall occur closer than 25 metres to any surface water body;
. The discharge does not result in surface ponding;
No spray drift enters surface water;
o The discharge does not occur at a rate at which it cannot be assimilated by die
soil/pasture
Besides discussing the various details of the performance and extent of compliance by the Trust, this report

activities during the monitoring year. Administrative performance is concerned with the Trust’s approach to
demonstrating consent compliance in site operations and
to resource management and, ultimately, through the refinement of methods and
considered responsible resource utilisation, to move closer to achieving sustainable
development of the region’s resources.
1.1.4 Evaluation of environmental and administrative performance
Besides discussing the various details of the performance and extent of compliance by
the consent holder during the period under review, this report also assigns a rating as

1) Collect the water level information, this information can be very important.
2) Make sure that at least 3 times the casing volume of water has been purged from
the bore.
3) If the bore is a domestic water supply fitted with a down hole pump, make sure the
pump is running and allow it to run at least 15 minutes before sampling.
If you are using your own pump for sampling such as a Grundfos MP1 pump, flush
the well for at least 15 minutes at a high flow rate
are suitable for periphyton growth.
• A stream bottom that is already mostly silty material may also be recorded as having ‘thick
deposits’ if any water plants carry deposits on their leaves, or if the bed material shifts very
easily with a slight disturbance.
