Bewley Road showed pH and
sulphate levels were outside consent limits at two monitoring bores. Other parameters tested were within
consent limits at the time of sampling.
There were three unauthorised incidents recorded that were associated with the consents covered by this
report which resulted in further enforcement action, including two infringement notices and one abatement
notices being issued.
During the period under review, AML Ltd demonstrated a level of environmental and
disconnected esplanade reserves
border the Manganui River up and downstream from the weir, but do not provide for practical public
access.
Lake Ratapiko is created by a dam on the Mako Stream. The Lake is bisected by Ratapiko Road
with its western side used over summer by the New Plymouth Water Ski Club (NPWSC), with a club
campsite to the west of Ratapiko Road. The campsite features a clubroom, toilets, marina, boat
launching ramp and play facilities. The eastern side of the Lake is used by Jet

Executive summary
The Stratford District Council (SDC) maintains a closed landfill located on Victoria Road at Stratford, in the
Pātea catchment. The landfill was closed to the public on 11 March 2002, and to commercial disposers on
23 March 2002. The site has more recently been used to dewater and dispose of oxidation pond sludge
from the adjacent municipal wastewater treatment plant. This activity ceased in
