Executive summary
RKM Farms Ltd (the Company) operates a piggery located on 599A South Road at Hawera, in the Tangahoe
catchment. The piggery is a breeder grower and finishing operation with up to 5,000 pigs and piglets at any
one time, employing between four and five full time staff.
During
District Council (NPDC) operates a wastewater treatment plant
(NPWWTP) located on Rifle Range Road between New Plymouth and Bell Block. This report
for the period July 2015 to June 2016 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the
Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess NPDC’s environmental performance during
the period under review. The report also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and
assesses the environmental effects of NPDC’s activities.

1.1.1 Introduction
This report is for the period July 2023 to June 2024 by Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on the
monitoring programme associated with resource consents held by South Taranaki District Council (STDC).
STDC operates the Hawera Wastewater Treatment Plant (HWWTP) situated on Beach Road in Hawera.
The report includes the results and findings of the monitoring programme implemented
indigenous biodiversity values;

- where the adjacent land occupier is managing old
man’s beard present within 10 metres of their
property boundary.

The Company holds 15
a landfarm, Symes Manawapou,
which is located on Manawapou Road near Manutahi, in the Manawapou catchment, South
Taranaki. The consent for this landfarm was originally granted in May 2012 to Remediation
Services NZ and was then transferred to the Company in June 2014. This report marks the
second full year the Company has been in charge of the Symes Manawapou landfarm.

Energy Resources Limited operates a gas production station located on Inaha Road at
Manaia, in the Inaha catchment. This report for the period July 2012-June 2013 describes the
monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council to assess the
Company’s environmental performance during the period under review, and the results and
environmental effects of the Company’s activities.
The Company holds a total of nine resource consents, which include a total of 112 conditions
setting
