operating different routes. This will have an impact on students
particularly in Waitara.
A new central meeting point at the War Memorial Hall will be established. The four Waitara
buses will meet at the hall each morning and students will then be directed to transfer (if
required) to buses dedicated to particular schools. In the afternoon the procedure will work
in reverse.
The following table shows the Route number, the area the bus will pick/drop off students
and the schools the buses

Rimu were removed in a decade
during logging in the 1920s. Afterwards some areas
remained forested while others were used for pasture
or pine plantations. Now, more than 80 years
later, the forest is covering the land once more.
Pukeiti’s Rainforest tracks take you through this
regenerating rainforest with remnant pockets of
mature forest and some ancient rimu trees. There are
spectacular views of the Tasman Sea, the Pouakai and
the Kaitake mountain ranges.

distances
Good Neighbour Rule requirements are subject to
appropriate boundary control distances based on the
biological characteristics and dispersal of pests.
The Plan contains Good Neighbour Rules for 12 pests with
the boundary distances specified in relevant rules that reflect
their biological characteristics, dispersal, spread, and control
requirements.
Adjacent land values and compliance costs
Good Neighbour Rules are also subject to a determination
that
National regulations around the Rules
Good Neighbour Rules must comply with the National Policy
Direction for Pest Management 2015 and the Council must be
satisfied that land occupiers follow them in regard to:
Whether a pest’s spread would cause unreasonable costs
to occupiers of adjacent land.
That the occupiers of adjacent land take reasonable
measures to manage the pest or its impacts.
