named. Over the last two terms, schools in Taranaki have been BioBlitzing up a storm! A BioBlitz is a concentrated effort to discover and record as many living things as possible within a set location over a limited time period. It provides a fun way for students to learn about biodiversity, including how to identify native species that need protecting and pest species that need removing. Before launching into a BioBlitz, it’s a good idea to: Plan your objectives.
Define the target area.
Decide on
Taranaki District Plan, the Regional Coastal Plan for Taranaki, the
Conservation Management Strategy, the Coastal Resource Inventory, Sites of Special
Biological Interest, the New Zealand Duneland Inventory and the Sand Dune and Beach
Vegetation Inventory of New Zealand.
The Inventory identifies a total of 69 sites as locally or regionally significant. These
areas collectively make up 86.3 kilometres of the 263-kilometre Taranaki coastline. A
list of all 69 sites and a summary of the
takes into account the scope of assessments required at the time of renewal of permits,
and the need to maintain a sound understanding of industrial processes within Taranaki exercising resource
consents.
There are no planned changes for the 2022-2023 monitoring programme.
It should be noted that the proposed programme represents a reasonable and risk-based level of
monitoring for the site in question. The Council reserves the right to subsequently adjust the programme
from that

[5] To the west of the site are industrial properties that have been largely
established within the last 5 – 10 years and land that is currently being developed and
which contains bare unstabilised ground. To the north-west of the site is a residential
subdivision known as The Links. The township of Bell Block is located to the north
east of the site.
[6] The area within which the site is located is zoned industrial by the District Plan
2002.

Both exotic and native forest plantation play an important part in soil conservation in the Taranaki region. About half of the 27, 278 hectares of exotic forestry in the region is established on erosion-prone land (14, 738 hectares). Forestry as a sustainable solutionWhere land is suitable for growth and harvest, the Council advocates converting steep, erodible land to forestry. We can provide free Agroforestry Plans to farmers interested in establishing plantation forestry. These plans can

was noted that the Agency will email a response back to the Committee through the
Chairperson regarding this matter together with the next 12 months maintenance
