Taranaki’s public transport fleet is going greener and quieter with the addition of an e-bus on urban routes in New Plymouth. Taranaki Regional Council has secured funding from Waka Kotahi/NZTA’s Climate Emergency Response Fund for the electric vehicle – the first e-bus to hit the roads in the region. Cheryl Gazley, Council Transport Engagement Manager, said the new vehicle will remove about 50 tonnes of CO2 in the first year and is a great start to the long-term goal of moving from diesel to
water discharge permit 6498-1, to discharge treated stormwater and treated
produced water from hydrocarbon exploration and production operations at the
Turangi Production Station onto land, where it may enter into an unnamed tributary of
the Parahaki Stream. This permit was issued by the Taranaki Regional Council on 7

A new Waitara Express bus service is set to hit the road this month – halving the journey time between the township and New Plymouth. Taranaki Regional Council is launching the State Highway 3 service on 20 May after community calls for improved links in North Taranaki. The new service will halve the journey time between Waitara and New Plymouth from 50 to just 25 minutes, with one stop in Waitara and one in Bell Block. There will be five return trips a day at times convenient for those
on-going groundwater
monitoring in the vicinity of the Mangahewa-C wellsite.
A separate report (Todd Taranaki Limited, Mangahewa-C Exploration Wellsite Monitoring
Programme Report, Technical Report 2012-84, Taranaki Regional Council, September 2013)
outlines all other wellsite activities carried out during the period September 2011 to May 2012
and the monitoring of these activities undertaken by the Council.

in section 22 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978.
Marine seismic survey is a method of exploration geophysics that uses active acoustic
sources to estimate the structure, stratigraphy and properties beneath the sea floor. The
method generates a controlled sound wave from an acoustic source, and detects returned
sound energy through an array of acoustic receivers that may either be towed behind
a vessel or combined with seismographs placed upon the sea floor.
