Levels then dropped to below the drinking water standard in MP3 and fluctuated between about 20 and 50 g/m3N between 1995 and 2009 in MP2. In the 2010-2011 monitoring period nitrate concentration in MP2 fell in response to reduced irrigation volumes, and since has ranged between about 10 and 20 g/m³N, lifting when volumes increased in 2014-2015 and falling when volumes decreased in 2015-2016. By using a correlation between these two sites, a calculated flow can be estimated for the ‘Bushline.
