Once past all the activity at the entrance and
around the lawn, the rest of the garden is as
beautiful and serene as ever. This time of the
year the hydrangeas brighten the walkways
– Hydrangea macrophylla, with its mop-top
and lace-cap forms, mainly blue, purple or
white because of the acid soil, dominates. But
here and there other species, e.g. H. aspersa
adverse effects on local groundwater or surface water resources. There were no
unauthorised incidents recording non-compliance in respect of the resource consent held by the Company
in relation to these activities or provisions in regional plans, during the period under review.
For reference, in the 2023/24 year, consent holders were found to achieve a high level of environmental
performance and compliance for 864 (89%) of a total of 967 consents monitored through the Taranaki
