This independent report was prepared by The Catalyst Group for the Compliance and Enforcement Special Interest Group made up of regional councils and unitary authorities to improve the availability of data on compliance, monitoring and enforcement functions under the Resource Management Act. All 16 of New Zealand's regional councils and unitary authorities participated.

Use of prosecutions under the RMA

This report, published by the Ministry for the Environment, provides an analysis of the judgments and sentencing outcomes of 429 prosecutions under the Resource Management Act 1991, between 1 July 2008 and 30 September 2012.

Resource consent processing customer satisfaction survey

The Taranaki Regional Council carried out a customer satisfaction survey of applicants who had been granted consents between 1 July 2008 and 20 June 2009. This survey found that overall customer satisfaction with the consent process remains high, reinforcing results from a similar survey carried out in 2001.
