1.1.1 Introduction
This report is the Annual Report for the period July 2013-June 2014 by the Taranaki
Regional Council on the monitoring programme associated with resource consents for
the Mangorei Hydroelectric Power Scheme operated originally by Taranaki Energy
Ltd, then by Powerco Ltd, and more recently by Trustpower Ltd.
This report covers the results and findings of the monitoring programme implemented
by the Council in respect of the consents that
Creek1, Kiri Road, in the Taungatara catchment. The report for the period July 2017 to June 2018
describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess
CCCWSL’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the period under review. The report
also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the environmental effects of the
Company’s activities.
CCCWSL holds three resource consents, which include a total of 27

The consents were issued by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on 28 March 2012
(7995-1 and 7996-1) and 5 April 2012 (7998-1). Each consent contains a total of 14 special
conditions which set out the requirements that STOS must satisfy.
The following report for the period April 2014 to March 2015 outlines and discusses the results
of the monitoring programme implemented by the Council in relation to the programme of
hydraulic fracturing undertaken by
many weeks/ months as well as
others.
When I have been through challenges in life I have
frequented this awa to cleanse my self and to get
healing, which is what my tipuna did in the day as well
as a place to bless my taonga. Nowdays this is not a
viable option, the mauri( life force) and the wairua and
integrity of my awa tipuna has been severely
compromised by Remediation and their practices and
this too has been enabled by the Taranaki Regional
Council due to their lack of
wastewater to the Kurapete Stream. The previous consent
expired in June 2003 and was renewed in September 2004. The renewed resource consent
includes a total of 13 special conditions setting out the requirements that NPDC must satisfy.
During the monitoring period New Plymouth District Council demonstrated an overall
high level of environmental performance.
This report for the period July 2014 to June 2015 describes the monitoring programme
implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council
Company) operates a cleanfill and wood waste disposal site located on Cowling
Road at Hurdon, in the Huatoki catchment. The activity relates to the filling of a gully with cleanfill and
sawdust from the Taranaki Sawmills (now Taranaki Pine) site in Bell Block. This report for the period July
2017 to June 2018 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council
(the Council) to assess the Company’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the
period under
Regional Council (the Council) adopted a water
management plan for the river in September 1991.
At the end of the 2015-2016 monitoring period a total of 22 consents were held by the 14
industries monitored under this programme that discharge wastewater, stormwater and/or
leachate from the industrial area at Fitzroy, New Plymouth to the lower Waiwhakaiho River
and Mangaone Stream, or to land in the lower Waiwhakaiho and Mangaone Stream
catchments. The activities and impacts of the consent
