From 2014 onwards, the Taranaki Regional Council (TRC) has implemented a coordinated region-wide
monitoring programme to measure nitrogen oxides (NOx), not only at individual compliance monitoring
sites near

Manaia, Opunake, and Patea landfills. Triennial monitoring of the Otakeho closed landfill was not scheduled
to take place

performance during the period under review.
During the monitoring period, STDC demonstrated an overall high level of environmental
performance.
STDC now holds a total of 11 coastal permits relating to coastal structures, which include a total of 51
conditions setting out the requirements that
