The Mangorei Hydro-Electric Power Scheme (“Scheme”) is owned and operated by Trustpower
Limited (“Trustpower”) and is located within the Waiwhakaiho River catchment,
Executive summary
Contact Energy Ltd (the Company) operates the Stratford Power Station (SPS) located on State Highway 43
near Stratford in the Patea catchment. This report for the period July 2020 to June 2021 describes the
monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess the
Company’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the period under review. The report
also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the
for the period July 2020 to June 2021 by the Taranaki Regional Council (the
Council) describing the monitoring programme associated with 13 industries within the catchment of the
Mangati Stream, Bell Block.
Overall, a high level of environmental performance was achieved by the consent holders in the industrial
area of the Mangati Stream catchment.
The Mangati catchment has, in the past, been heavily utilised for the disposal of stormwater and
wastewaters from a large number of
