Preface
This is the first regional coastal plan prepared by the Taranaki Regional Council under
the Resource Management Act 1991. The passage of that Act brought about a major
reform of the way in which the coastline and coastal waters of New Zealand are
managed. The Taranaki Regional Council's responsibilities have been extended from its
water quality management role to include such functions as control of structure
placement, reclamation and foreshore works, noise emission
and effectively.
• Communicate organisational goals and aspirations, bringing clarity
to the way forward particularly during times of change and
uncertainty.
Strategy • Contribute to the development and implementation of the
Environmental Quality group Strategy and Roadmap ensuring the
Taranaki Regional Council is well-positioned for the future.

Environment Quality and other Taranaki Regional Council activities

Environmental Planner - Consents

The Environmental Planner – Consents role is responsible for working collaboratively and
cohesively within the Resource Consents team to assist in the sustainable management of the
Taranaki Region through investigating, evaluating and advising upon consent applications to the
Council under the Resource Management Act (1991) and National Environmental Standards,
including the preparation of reports and associated
help
out. We’ll help you promote this to your
whanau. A collaborative activity with a
BBQ at some sites.

Student action day at the Enviro Hub &
Zoo
The New Plymouth District Council has
created an Enviro Hub for action and
initiatives. We’re running a student
activity day with a huge range of
activities to make, do, share and take
back to school.

• Engage with a diverse range of external and internal stakeholders to
deliver the strategic goals of the Technical Support team and wider
Taranaki Regional Council.
• Develop and maintain professional networks across all relevant sectors,
identifying opportunities to leverage or collaborate on projects that
may benefit the Taranaki Regional Council.
Financial
The Regional Transport Committee meets quarterly and includes representatives of Taranaki's four Councils and the NZ Transport Agency.
