Regional Council (the Council) adopted a water
management plan for the river in September 1991.
At the end of the 2015-2016 monitoring period a total of 22 consents were held by the 14
industries monitored under this programme that discharge wastewater, stormwater and/or
leachate from the industrial area at Fitzroy, New Plymouth to the lower Waiwhakaiho River
and Mangaone Stream, or to land in the lower Waiwhakaiho and Mangaone Stream
catchments. The activities and impacts of the consent

During the monitoring period, the Company demonstrated an overall high level of
environmental performance at both sites.
For the Maui Production Station, the Company holds a total of four resource consents;

Road at Hurdon, in the Huatoki catchment. The activity relates to the filling of a gully with cleanfill and
sawdust from the Taranaki Sawmills (now Taranaki Pine) site in Bell Block. This report for the period July

The Company holds a total of two resource consents, which
operates a meat processing plant located at Eltham,
in the Waingongoro catchment. Since May 2014, the site has been known as ANZCO Foods
Eltham. The plant has an associated wastewater treatment ponds system from which
effluent is disposed of either to land or to the river. This report for the two killing seasons
from October 2012-September 2014 describes the monitoring programme implemented by
the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess the Company’s environmental
performance during the
the period July 2015 to June 2016 by the Taranaki Regional Council
(the Council) on the monitoring programme associated with the resource consent held
by Taranaki Thoroughbred Racing (TTR). TTR operates a race track and associated
facilities on Coronation Avenue, New Plymouth. The site is located within the Te
Henui catchment. Consent 7470-1.1 authorises the abstraction of up to 500 m3/day of
groundwater from a production bore at the site, at a rate not exceeding 10 L/s.
