August 2019 rainfall

August rainfall ranged from 82% to 139% of normal at our monitored sites, with most rain occurring in the first two weeks of the month.

Rain fell on 15 to 25 days, and only six sites recorded below-normal rainfall - North Egmont (82%), Kahui Hut (96%), Hillsborough (89%), Bell Block (85%), Stratford (94%) and Cape Egmont (92%).

Year-to-date rainfall is between 78% and 118% of normal.

Seven sites have recorded above-normal rainfall for the year to date: Dawson Falls (101%), Motunui (107%), Kotare (110%), Taungatara (102%), Manaia (103%), Whareroa (118%), and Pātea (117%).
