The map below shows the progress made in riparian (streamside) fencing and planting in Taranaki.
More than 95% of dairy farms in the region now have Riparian Management plans prepared at no cost by the Taranaki Regional Council. The map shows progress towards implementing these plans, with the map shades growing progressively darker as riparian protection nears completion (also taking into account pre-existing fencing and planting). Black areas indicate either total protection, or properties without rivers or streams.
