
Shades of Green at Coastal Area School
These Coastal Area School Years 7-10 students and teacher Joel Dodd wrote a book called Shades of Green. It's about the state of our environment and how we can all change our ways to be moe environmentally efficient. Topics include global warming, transport, food, clothing and waste management. The effort earned them one of this year's Taranaki Regional Council Environmental Awards, which was presented by the Council Chairman, David MacLeod (second from right).

Inglewood Primary plants out
Years 5-6 pupils from Inglewood Primary School have been busy planting trees along the Waiongonaiti Stream and nearby bush areas.

Eltham Primary goes bug hunting
Junior students at Eltham Primary School are pictured getting down to business in their stream study in June. All classes in the Junior Syndicate studied water quality in a nearby stream, with the waterway's health measured by looking at the number and type of other bugs and other small creatures living in it.
